Acted as a contractor for BIM design of buildings and structures, various residential, social, public and business facilities.
SHORTAGE OF HIGHLY SKILLED PROFESSIONALS
The project is a residential complex with several towers, stylobate and underground parking.
The main problem was that the architectural and structural sections were developed late in relation to the MEP systems, creating many problems related to intersections and inability to design networks according to code documentation.
Originally, BIM’s technology in building design would only be partly implemented in Revit for complex floors like lobbies, parking, and top floors. However, the decision was made to run the entire site in the software due to the complexity of the site, the minimal space to accommodate all the networks, and the active progress of architectural changes.
A secondary problem was that BIM design in construction required specialists who were not employed or who were working on other projects.
In addition, due to the updated vendor list, the issue of replacing current equipment in already designed projects became acute.
*Increasing number of active projects due to company’s development made it necessary to recruit employees for design work from contracting organizations.
The increase in the number of designers, in turn, led to an increase in the amount of work for the coordination of individual sections of the project documentation.
PROJECT'S PRIMARY MISSION: DEVELOPMENT OF WORKING DOCUMENTATION
The previously developed design documentation served as the input data.
We also needed to control how the developed systems were linked to related sections, including Architecture, Structural Solutions, External Networks, etc.
OUR EXPERTS HAVE CREATED SIMPLIFIED MODELS OF ARCHITECTURAL SOLUTIONS AND CONSTRUCTIVE DECISIONS
The solution to the problem of architectural solutions and construction was the creation of a model on the basis of drawings. Our specialists created simplified models of AS and CD (including wall and floor contours, without full elaboration of names, doors, windows, etc.). These models could be modified in real mode when changes were released in the architecture and construction sections.
This has accelerated the process of coordinating changes to both our and neighboring projects by an order of magnitude, allowing specialists to think through technical solutions in advance, avoiding overlap between each other and structural elements.
However, since our company has a large base of diverse experts, we were able to select several experts who were ready to offer their services for the design of engineering systems, houses, buildings, structures or parking facilities.
Replacement according to the updated list of suppliers was not difficult either. This is due to the fact that REVIT allows you to simply replace the family. In this way, the parameters and specifications of the project are automatically updated.
REVIT also allows you to see if the upgraded equipment clashes with existing equipment placement.
